40? How did that Happen?
One minute you are skipping through the fields a small child with nothing more to worry about than food and fun. Blink and the next thing you know you are facing middle age with a lot more to worry about, including a different child, yours, whose food and fun is now your responsibility. I am one of the lucky ones, I have achieved most of the things I feel I should have at this age, marriage, homeowner, motherhood and a career I love. But there are still lots of things I would like to change and it feels like the perfect time to do so.
My mental health has been up and down more times than a tarts knickers in the last few years, despite years of attempts I am overweight. A recent injury has meant I am more unfit than I have probably ever been. I have recently launched my fledgling writing career but feel like I am at risk of crashing and burning and just generally I feel that if I don't make a few changes now then I risk drifting further and further into old age feeling that I just haven't done enough to improve things.
August 3rd will mark 100 days before my 40th birthday and so I have to use this as a bit of a challenge to bring some good things into my life and eliminate others that aren't so helpful. I know that if you do anything for around a month then you will hopefully adopt it as a habit, the same to get rid of unhelpful habits.
Here is where I will be documenting my changes!

Hey Jenni, sorry to message you on here - my company is making a documentary about the importance of portraying characters / storylines centred around mental health issues with accuracy.
ReplyDeleteIt would be amazing to speak to you about it if you got a couple minutes . My email is chris@sub.tv if you want I can send you the brief.
Thanks for your time, and apologies for writing on here
Chris
